Our Military Kids is a nonprofit organization that provides grants to children who have a parent deployed overseas with the National Guard or Reserves. The grants pay for extracurricular activities, such as sports, fine arts, camps, and tutoring. Many Guardsmen and Reservists do not live near military installations, so they are unable to take advantage of support services. Our Military Kids fills that gap. Montgomery G.I. Bill
In addition to paying your college tuition, we’ll send you a monthly allowance of up to $333 for expenses—about $11,000 over a four-year period. Post-9/11 G.I. Bill
For Soldiers with at least 90 days of Active Duty service on or after September 11, 2001, the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill can cover up to 100% of your tuition, depending on the length of time you’ve served. •Be eligible beginning the day you join the Army National Guard
•Remain in the Guard during the complete term of your college courses

Scholarships include:
•A wide range of merit-based scholarships that pay up to full college tuition
•Additional funds to pay for books, supplies and other school fees
•Tax-free stipends up to $500 per month if you qualify
All ROTC scholarships require a service commitment. Check with your recruiter for details.
Student Loan Repayment Program
For Soldiers and officers who have an existing student loan obligation at the time of enlistment in the Guard, there is a program that may pay up to $50,000 for certain jobs, with a six- or eight-year enlistment as a member of a unit.

The Rhodes Scholarship, named after Cecil Rhodes, is an international postgraduate award for study at the University of Oxford, and was the first large-scale programme of international scholarships. Rhodes Scholars may study any full-time postgraduate course offered by the University, whether a taught Master’s programme, a research degree, or a second undergraduate degree (senior status).
In the first instance, the scholarship is awarded for two years. However, it may also be held for one year or three years. Applications for a third year are considered during the course of the second year.
University and College fees are paid by the Rhodes Trust. In addition, Scholars receive a monthly maintenance stipend to cover accommodation and living expenses. Although all scholars become affiliated with a residential college while at Oxford, they also enjoy access to Rhodes House, an early 20th century mansion with numerous public rooms, gardens, a library, study areas, and other facilities.
“For more than a century, Rhodes scholars have left Oxford with virtually any job available to them. For much of this time, they have overwhelmingly chosen paths in scholarship, teaching, writing, medicine, scientific research, law, the military and public service. They have reached the highest levels in virtually all fields.”

I have recently been accepted to Vanderbilt University Graduate School of Nursing to become an Adult/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (Master of Science in Nursing). I do not have a BSN…this is an accelerated program in which you become an RN in the first year and the next year earn your MSN. Currently, I have a BS in Biology. Does the Air Force, Navy, or Army have a scholarship program for someone like me?
Congratulations!
Yes we do, there’s an Army and a Navy det on Vanderbilt campus and an Air Force Det, maybe two, three miles away at Tennessee State University. You will want to talk to all three to see who can offer you the best deal. (I think you will like the Air Force lifestyle the best). You will have a four year committment to the Air Force after you graduate. . . I expect the Army and Navy to be about the same. All three branches have their contact information on the Vanderbilt.edu website.
Its a great program. I’m considering it after I retire.
