Frank Munden questions John McCain and George Bush’s opposition to a bill that would give US military servicemen college scholarships if they serve three or more years and receive an honorable discharge. Are athletes more important to our society than US servicemen?

McCain says Obama …
McCain says Obama wants to spread the wealth around. McCain should first look at himself in the mirror before opening his mouth. He wants to give Bush-like tax cuts to the rich, while the poor and middle class will get important programs cut for them. Plus the Republicans almost always put us in huge debt when they leave office. Reagan, Bush one, and W. Bush all gave us huge deficits. McCain and Palin would do the same. This is an example of Republicans version of spreading the wealth around.

I believe American …
I believe American soldiers deserve free college, but John McCain’s explanation makes sense.
We should give American soldiers free college after 20 years or more of service. If we give them free college after only 3 or 4 years, then many will leave the military and move on to college. Some might come back as officers later, but most will move on. We need to retain the soldiers for 20 years or more to defend the country.

you again? What …
you again? What kind of inhumane person are you? Soldiers are dying so we can remain safe…they are putting their lives on the line and you don’t think they should be rewarded. Look man, it’s not free when you earn it, and I think most would agree they earned it.
