Legislators are precluded from creating suspect classes. You have NO IDEA what you’re talking about, and you have no idea of the criteria for the SCOTUS to recognize and suspect class.
Ask your genius brother-in-law why he thinks the Cal legislators haven’t made “the poor” a suspect class yet.
Because they can’t.
Just like your age discrim law can’t.

There have been dozens and dozens of cases taken before the SCOTUS attempting to convince the Court to make age a suspect class. I had to sit through (torture!) and read all of them, and they all failed.
The new trend is trying to make sex orientation and poverty suspect classes.

@NAGGERNUTZ lol – Age is NOT a protected class. Ask any law professor. There are, for example, consumer acts too, such as the DTPA. Does this mean consumers are a protected class? No. There’s also the Federal Debt Collection Act. This does not mean debtors are a protected class. These statutes do not create protected classes. Please stop.

She was to be an officer. She should be charged under the applicable articles of the UCMJ, and if found guilty spend some time in a disciplinary barracks/consolidated brig, on top of having to pay the funds back.

The ADEA prohibits employment discrimination nationwide based on age with respect to employees 40 years of age or older. The ADEA also addresses the difficulty older workers face in obtaining new employment after being displaced from their jobs, arbitrary age limits.

@NAGGERNUTZ You’re confusing terminology in the law. You’re probably not a lawyer. Megyn Kelly is. She should know better.
If a law discriminates on race, religion, national origin, gender or legitimacy, the govt has to prove the law is related to compelling (or sometimes “important”) govt purpose.
Age is not within this group. Neither are the disabled, gays, or the poor. As you can imagine, liberal judges have been trying to make “the poor” a suspect class for decades.
