In the summer of 2009 I will begin an 1,100 mile solo paddling journey in an effort to establish a scholarship in my fathers name and memory. This scholarship will be created through the Swain County Schools Foundation created in 2003 to make a positive difference in our schools and our students. The nursing detachment is a new and thriving program offered to nursing students who wish to be a part of the Corps of Cadets.
