I am looking to finish my Master’s degree in Europe and will need money to finance it. The U.S. Government won’t fund overseas education (unless the credits are being transferred back to the U.S., which they won’t be), so I’m looking for an alternative to school loans. I’ve thought about selling a couple of quilts I’ve made and some knitted items, but I need "big" money — ranging from $15,000 – $20,000. Any ideas?
It’s also probably important to add that I will be starting school in January 2008 and that scholarships/grants may not be an option (I already received a Fulbright grant in 2003 and had to apply one year in advance).
Thanks!
Have you tried looking for scholarships in the country you are looking to study in? They may well offer scholarships to foreign students, or there may be a specific fund for American students at that particular university.
Universities in your home country or abroad may be interested in you committing to teach there after completing your masters, and they can help with funds (subject to your signing a long contract which would be very difficult/impossible to pull out of). I know a few people who have received funding for uni. in this way.
